From martinsays.com: coming xmas ‘08, per request. just got to the docs crib in...![]() coming xmas ‘08, per request. just got to the docs crib in good old andover, massachusetts suburbia after a 4 1/2 hour drive. its 7:53 in the morning and i have officially been up for 34+ hours. party. for the sake of good karma, and mostly so this kid will stop emailing me, will you please add him on myspace? i don’t know who the hell this kid thinks he is, but a month or so ago he hacked the BLG myspace and posted bulletins, etc., hacked my personal email, hacked my personal screen name…we basically had to call in the sony legal department to get him to stop. then a few days ago he has the nerve to IM and email me to “say hi.” the entire hoopla was all over getting more people to watch his stickam and add him as a myspace friend. i don’t even know what fucking stickam is. it seems to me that if you are intelligent enough to hack 90 internet accounts with really complicated passwords that change weekly, you should be more worried about getting a job for the government or at least some really sweet illegal secretive hacker regime in some old ladies basement like in the movies rather than spending your time caring about people watching you eat cereal on live streaming video. please add this lunatic so he will leave me alone. and while your add it, help him get a real job so he stops wasting his time and his brainpower. remember, no internet tomorrow. (this includes you hoodrichjesse) start brainstorming some good old fashioned alternatives or i will steal your turkey and dave katz will pee in your gravy.

November 10, 2008From Martin's Blog: my dad just sent me this email. thought i'd share.Veteran’s DayDaniel Johnson show details 7:35 PM (5 hours ago) Hey, just home from work…. and thinking. Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day, a national holiday. I usually don’t give it much thought. I was a CO, a conscientious objector, in the Vietnam War, 1969. Peace, love, dope, you know. And although I served my 2 years of alternative duty in the U.S. in lieu of military service (I worked in a hospital in Brooklyn for those 2 years), I’ve always felt a bit guilty on Veteran’s Day. I was just smart enough, and just fortunate enough, to write a good enough essay back in 1969 to get a CO status and avoid going to war. So as a parent, I have always been grateful that our country no longer has a draft….the thought that my son could get drafted, go to war, and be in harm’s way, has always been so frightful to me. So now, as more and more Veteran’s Days come and go, I feel greater respect for those parents who did let their sons go to war. Many of those boys died. Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day. I feel for those parents. For whatever reason they let their sons go…they, and their sons who served, I now think, should be honored tomorrow. Check this site out. http://www.infoplease.com/spot/veteransday1.html love,

From martinsays.com: to this date i haven’t really commented much on politics...![]() to this date i haven’t really commented much on politics or our new president elect. tonight i felt the need to even out the pictures of boxes of count chocula with some food for thought, and express how i feel. i am someone who has always believed, as obama does, in the power of positive thinking, and his credo, “yes we can” has really resonated with people of my generation. i am excited to see change on the horizon. i’m optimistic for the promises to end the war and reverse the economic slump. hopefully, we will be living in a better america and world within the next four years. but like he said in his acceptance speech in chicago on tuesday, he realizes that change does not happen overnight…it will take time, maybe more than a single term, for real change to take place. i like that he is calling on my generation to help and to work hard to create a unified america. as a songwriter, my personal life is 100% focused around words and passion and i truly admire president elect obama’s speeches and enthusiasm. let’s hope those words are turned into actions.

From Martin's Blog: "welcome to martinsays.com. from wikipedia.org: “Simon says is a game for three or more..."
“
welcome to martinsays.com. from wikipedia.org: It is Simon’s task to try to get everyone out as quickly as possible, and it is every one else’s job to stay “in” for as long as possible. The last of Simon’s followers to stay in wins (although the game is not always played all the way through). It is considered cheating to give impossible commands (“Simon says ‘lift your left leg’. Simon says ‘lift your right leg’. Simon did not say ‘put your left leg down’!”) or phrase the commands in such a way that the other player has no option but to ‘go out’ (“Simon says ‘jump up’. Come down.”). However, at least in some versions, it is allowed for Simon to eliminate players by asking them to do something seemingly unrelated to the game (example: “Anyone remaining join me up here.”) A recent psychological study found that the game can be a healthy way to help children to improve self-control and restraint of impulsive behavior. [1] The name of the game also inspired a classic 1980s electronic toy named Simon by computer games inventor Ralph H. Baer.[2] It is a circular electronic game featuring four colored quadrants. The game will flash quadrants in turn and expect you to repeat the sequence. If you get the sequence correct, the game will respond with a longer sequence.
